Mint Julep Recipe

1 tsp sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp water
3 - 5 fresh mint springs
3 ounces bourbon whiskey, divided
Fresh mint spring

Combine first 3 ingredients in a serving glass. Mull gently til sugar is dissolved. Add crushed ice, filling glass 2/3 full. Add 2 oz bourbon, stir briskly. Add additional crushed ice to fill glass. Add remaining bourbon. Place glass in freezer; chill 15 minutes. Garnish with mint sprig.
