Whipped Cream Pound Cake
3 cups sugar
2 stick butter
6 eggs
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
1-2 teaspoons Spices Etc..almond or
lemon extract (optional)
1/2 pint whipping cream, unwhipped
Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift flour 3 times and measure for 3 cups. Add flour and salt gradually to egg mixture. (You may substitute 3 cups cake flour for the plain flour and salt). Add flavorings and whipping cream. Pour batter into a greased, lightly-floured tube pan. Put cake in cold oven and turn temperature to 325 degrees for approximately 1 hour, or 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. When cake is done, allow to remain in pan for 10 minutes. Turn out and wrap in foil when cool.
